Hi, just wondering if anyone has one of these or any knowledge of them - need to transport 2 big horses one of whom strikes out with front legs like an idiot - so I dont want a trailer which is too flimsy or which echoes too much when she does this.

Thanks for your help

I used to have a Wessex Olympian before I got my lorry. I changed to a Wessex from an IW 510 because my horse at the time was not happy travelling on the aluminium floor. I absolutely loved the Wessex - light and airy, plenty of space for two very large horses and never had a problem with it.

Not had any experience of horses striking out in one, but I would think that if you travelled her on the 'ramp' side when you're transporting two (which is the opposite side to IW) then it wouldn't echo too much, because she'd strike the rubber on the ramp rather than the 'metal' sides. Also the floor is a 'plastic' type composite material, not metal, and has a thick rubber covering so that doesn't make any noise.

If I ever had another trailer I would definitely go for the Wessex!

I had a wessex Olympian and it had plenty of room for my big boy in it, great trailer the only thing I didn't like (why I swapped for IW) is the way the back ramp closed as my boy used to lean quite heavily on the breech bar pushing at the ramp.

I fancied one of these and asked on here like you have. I was told of an accident that had happened in the Wessex when the horse somehow got its leg between the side of the trailer and the floor, as in where it meets. The horse lacerated its leg badly, cant remember if it was PTS because the sides are metal/aluminium so the edge was sharp. I know this may have been a freak accident but I was just thinking of your horse because you say it strikes out.
