I'm sorry, I know this is a boring post but I need a bit of help trying to find a suitable yard.....
I am looking for a yard with a stable and a field that can have 24 hour t-out for summer and at least 12 hour t-out winter...I am not bothered about a school. please can go between storrington, findon, worthing up to brighton.
Under £100 a month will go a bit more

Thanks guys really struggling to find somewhere suitable

good luck with that, have your tried north farm, of rogers farm in findon. i know andrew at rogers farm used to charge £20pw for stable and field so might be worth a ring.

i think you budget is a little low as i used pay £125PCM for what you describe (did) have a school too, slightly out of your area.

We are also looking, there was a nice one in Washington, cant remember the name. Agree, i haven't found anything less than £130 pcm.

I also think your budget is low - When I lived in Horsham I paid £20p/w but that was in 2000-2003 and we had no winter TO at all. My friends down that way are all paying £30 a week or more now for similar setups. Although saying that, you might find something without a school.

I will ask my sister as she lives in Storrington and might know of some places. There used to be a place on the road between Horsham and Brighton, just passed Cowfold and that was very nice, but not sure on charges etc.

Agree about the budget being a bit low. I used to be in the Midhurst area and paid £20 per week back in 2001/2002. I know its considerably more at that yard now.

yeah my current yard is £38 per week, I know £20 is very ambitious but really maximum budget is £30 a week more if the price includes hay and straw

Just read your other post, if you are retiring your pony you could consider finding a companion home for her, I have a companion on loan for my young horse and it works really well for me and his owner. I am happy for her to have contact with him and be involved in his life and he is spoilt rotten by both of us. Might be an idea to look into especially if you are starting a new job and you may have less time.

BID - I dont want to put her on loan I want to keep her as a pet at a cheaper yard because I dont need the 4X schools that I have at my current yard

right after reading your other post it makes more sense now! in that case i would suggest rogers farm in findon as the stables are a good size as are the field they don't have a school but they do have off road hack so if you felt the urge to take her for a walk in hand there is that option too. i know it was £20pw in 2005 when i was there but it maybe more now.

hope this is helpful and i hope you find some where suitable soon, as hangleton is very very very expensive.

Rogers Farm would be my first try for a retiree, although North Farm do grass livery and have nice fields.

Hobdens down the Lee Farm road at Patching might have space, they are only £15 a week for stable and small individual turnout area - may be worth a try.

Church Farm Patching are quite cheap I think, used to only take geldings, but I think they take mares as well now. Nice turnout, plenty of grass there.

Hangletons up for sale now too isn't it - hope someone buys it and leaves it as a livery yard, or there is going to be a serious livery shortage in that area!!! Although would be nice if they turned it into a serious competition venue!

doublethyme! blimey you must be close to me, I live next door to church farm but unfortunatly I cant have a stable in a barn coz of the COPD.
Hangletons up for sale for a mere £2million! I think who ever buys it has to keep it equestrian, trouble is theres not much field space as it is but the three back fields are also going :S so dont know whats going to happen there.

Hi, sorry no suggestions for livery. Might it be worth trying to find someone with private land and rent a field? I know there was grazing land with a shelter for rent just of the A27 at Sompting recently. I hadn't heard that Hangleton was for sale!
Where is Chris going?

Yep Chestnut_mare, I'm an ex-Hangeltoner from many years ago now, but currently have my horses at in Patching (Longfurlong).

I'd heard that Chris is moving along to the other end of his land isn't he, building a purpose built all singing small yard for his horses and a select few. Presumably taking some of the land with him.

Mind you still a good up and running livery business there for someone with a few million to spare!! Certainly will be weird to think of Hangleton with a different owner!

I know of a yard which is £20 per week DIY (I think straw is included) but its in Plumpton, E Sussex. A friend of mine has liveries available with turnout at the bottom of the downs in Westmeston but again in E Sussex. I have a friend over the other side of the South Downs on a farm after Foredown Tower (Portslade area) right on the downs.

Yer chris is moving to the East 3 fields, with his horses and a few that are wanting to pay top dollar for top notch facilities, saying that though theres not going to be much field space and hangleton is going to be loosing 3 of it's fields so even less grazing for hangleton.
...My horse is getting very used to huge machines :O

Hi, this is a longshot as the message is old, but is your friend still doing liveries in Westmeston? I'd be very interested.

Does anyone know of a livery between horsham and henfield that does assisted DIY or Part Livery (considering this, dependant on cost) that has space for a large horse. I need a school but the main thing is that when my horse is turned out that he is never the only one or left in the field, as he get stressed. So looking for somewhere I could make arrangements with other people on the yard or the yard owners.
