West Swindon Alert: Hot Air Balloon Event

In case anyone in the area and surrounding villages of West Swindon isn’t aware. There will be a Hot Air Balloon festival at Lydiard Park this weekend (4th/5th July 2025). Some balloon flights will be taking place.

I saw a friend share a post of someone that lost a horse a couple of years ago when balloons from the Bristol Balloon Festival flew too low over them.

We have a far few electricity pylons in our fields so I’m hoping we don’t get them over us. Horses cope well with low flying military aircraft but hot air balloons are sky dragons !!
