Hi everyone,

So, we went competing at the 80cm unaffiliated ODE at West Wilts today and we came 10th in our section! Really pleased with how she went today.

Did our dressage which wasn't as good as usual as grass bit slippy and couldn't put studs in, but we managed 35.8.
Our trot work and free walk on long rein were the highlights, and we've been working on those so really happy!

Onto the showjumping, we jumped 10 mins early as felt ready and all very relaxed about timings. Had my little 'spurettes' on so had a bit more 'oomph!' We jumped clear, rather quickly, but she jumped so well! Was super relieved at the end as we got to go cross country in our own right!

Next, had a little break, before tacking up for xc. Warmed up nicely, then started out of box well, before horsey attempted refusals at fence one (being rather nappy and stubborn!). Luckily we were about 4 strides out, so I kicked on and she jumped it, before the same thing happened at 2! Kicked on again, and all was well. 3 was rather sticky, but by the time we got to 4 we were in a really good rhythm, and flew round the rest of the course, until we got to fence 14, where I lost both stirrups (one broke and other one slipped out!) so went down the last stretch of jumps with no stirrups! Oh well, all was good!

Really happy with how it went today, placing on our first time out felt amazing! ( Also, my plaiting attempt wasn't too horrendous! ;) )

Sorry it's so long!
