western saddle dudes

A couple of years ago i accidently bought a western saddlle.... I have no idea now why this happened but it looked nice so i bought it. I rode once in it and then bought an australian stock saddle (brilliant confidence giving saddle)
Now i am selling it and have no idea if it is a decent make or how much to ask for it.
I have one horse and three sadles so the western saddle is going... im saving up to marry a very handsome nice bloke.
I plan to ebay it or gum tree it......but have no idea if it is a good make or how much to ask.
I have googled Big Horn saddles and checked them out on ebay but can t find a second hand one to compare prices!

Im bumping this because on thinking about it i don t evan know how to tell if this saddle is a genuine Big Horn saddle. It has the number 10 on it if that means anything!

When I was looking around at western saddle prices as I was buying one from a friend I found that as a very general rule of thumb, the second hand ones went for a similar price in £ as they would in $ regardless of the exchange rate, I guess to factor in the ,limited choice and cost of importing. However if you don't know the brand it would almost impossible to value.

But as an example I paid £400 for mine and that included a matching breastplate and a cinch, but is is a very well known brand ( a circle Y park and trail) and is a very well made solid saddle.

I have a Big Horn saddle, I can't say that I have ever noticed a logo or anything stamped on it...will go and look.

I sold a big horn saddle a few years ago. got around £ 350


my current one is a bobs saddle worth quite allot.

The fenders are different the legit ones from the ones like Robinsons do. They have a silver plate on the cinch strap saying Wyoming on the legit ones.
Personally I would take it along to your nearest western store and get hem to sell it for you. Ask them what they think its worth what their comission is and add that to the total.

for example if its worth £ 400 and the shops profit is £ 60 . Put it up for sale for £ 460. They stand more chance getting good buyers since they are in the business. Sadly you will find it harder going solo.
