Western Saddles, anyone know about them??

Made by 'Hess and Hopkins' of Rockford Illinois, in studded hide...
As title says really.. does anyone know what i'm talking about above?? only one has come up in a sale (my dad is an antiques dealer) and he said it's stunning to look at, and wondered if it might be worth anything???

I've never heard of it - I expect it is a custom made saddle. There are a lot of small custom saddle makers over here.

Can you post a picture? I've never heard of the maker but may be able to tell you something if I can see the style of saddle.

Did a google search. They were in business in the 1940's. Found one listed for sale for $400 US. So they are worth something if in good condition.

Can't post a pic as haven't got one.. as i said, it's something dad has come across in an auction (in England) (loads of random stuff for sale).. I think he was just wondering if it went for say £10 would it be worth bidding on even if only to make another £10 on.. if one has sold for $400 it sounds like it might well be worth something to the right person..

He said there's LOADS of detail on it, if that makes any difference..
