Hi,

I have a western saddle for sale on ebay and someone has asked me to measure the frent conchos and i haven't the foggest what they are or where i would find it. (i really don't do western was only brought to be a comfortable hacking saddle and even then i never used it)

so could anyone tell where they are located on the saddle (in stupid speak for me please!!)

Do they want you to measure the width of the tree? If you look on the front of the saddle, below the horn there should be a circular piece on each side - if your saddle has "silver" they will be metal, otherwise they'll be leather and may or may not have two leather thongs hanging down from them. My guess is they want you to measure across the front at that level. It's the same as when people measure across the front of English saddles from D ring to D ring. (Tree size and shape isn't that simple but if someone knows the type of saddle it's a place to start.)
