Bonnie has recently started knocking her hind feed and I think over reaching. The farrier is here on Monday and I will speak to him, but as a safegaurd what do people think of Westropp Petal Over Reach Boots (Would be used on all 4 feet) as a means of managing this until it can be fixed?

I think this may have been caused by her being fitted with hind shoes, but i'm not sure.

Thanks all.

William

I remember them and they were quite a hard plastic rather than a softer rubber so I would be concerned that they would rub if you were using them constantly. I would rather use ones with sheepskin around the top and possibly a size up.

Kramer do extra large ones, or Horze neoprene ones in XL or XXL are the size of small buckets!
I use Eskadron or BR, both of which come in pretty large sizes-Alf has huge feet

I bought some of the newer ones, and they really don't make as much noise. The top strap is wider than it used to be and I have not had any problems with rubbing. I like that they are not too long, and if they tread themselves you only lose one petal and the horse is still protected as the petals are an under and an over, so only the over comes off.

The sound of the old ones though - the sound of my childhood right there, dreaming about owning a pair of those!
