My horses shoes keep coming off as his feet are so wet because of all the rain we have been having. Does anyone know of anything I can do to help dry them out?

Thanks

Bring him in for a few hours a day?

Ummm, some people find the Keratex products useful.

I think it is one of those things that has everyone scratching their heads at certain times of the year.

Are they cracky or just soft?

Most annoying for you though.

Perhaps someone else could be more constructive than me. LOL.

You could try putting hoof oil/grease on when the hooves are dry after hes been in. Hoof oil stops moisture getting in. Dont know if it would work well enough to solve your problem.

My (excellent) farrier always goes on about the wet ground ruining horses' hooves but he does also always say that (with regard to the last few posts) that hoof oil etc should be used ONLY for shows......it does more harm than good!
