Wet horse & rugging

What do you do when your horse has been out all day in the rain & then bring them in for the night?
At the moment he isnt wearing a rug as he doesnt need one really, hasnt been clipped (yet, still deciding whether or not to), but the weather is meant to be rain all day tomorrow. i only have m/w rugs. what do you do when you bring them in? i have a fleece rug i could put on him for the night...

If it was one of mine with the temperature now dropping at nights, if they were not wearing a rug and were soaking wet when I brought them in I would put a fleece on them to wick away the wet and prevent them getting a chill.

I put a fleece on and a lightweight breathable rug over the top.

Years ago people used to put straw under the rug to dry off!

if my horses got soaking wet and were freezing i would rug them, they would dry under the rug , i have put nz on a wet horse b 4 when they been caught out and shivering .

I put sweat rugs/fleeces on ours, sometimes with a lightweight on top depending on the temperature of them & the weather outside.
