Damn! Not been here long enough to have sussed out the answer to that one quick enough! Drat being the new girl! lol.
My top 10 breeds (in no particular order) include:
1. Rottweiler
2. German Shepherd
3. Burnese Mountain Dog
4. Alaskan Malamute
5. Golden Retriever
6. Labrador
7. Flat coated retriever
8. Springer Spaniel
9. Siberian Husky (although I have met a few nutters in my time!)
10. Any kind of Pointer
Although interestingly I don't own any of them. I own (or am owned by!) a Border Collie and a Cocker Spaniel. I adore those breeds too - the Collie was my hubbies choice and the Cocker was mine (on the grounds he'd not let me get anything bigger than a Cocker and Cockers are the only small-medium dogs I particularly like!)
Mine would be most if not all Gundogs, especially Spaniels.
There are a few breeds on here which I love, buit I think that has more to do with the dog than the breed! Boston Terriers (How could anyone NOT love Stella!??) Schnuzars (Beastie rocks!) and Lurcher/Greyhounds/Whippets (I blame Splotchy for that one!).
I'd rather have a mongrel tbh.
My JR X is the best dog ever. All the plus points of a JR, but cuter and not neurotic/snappy.
I've also met some lovely Labrador crosses.
If I had to choose a purebred, I would say Border Terrier. My grandparents have one and he is the funniest thing ever
And German shorthaired pointers, I like them as well
Guess mine?
Rhodesian Ridgebacks def No 1. but closely followed by the loyal Rottweiler.
I always fancied having a weinaramer but hubby says they are crazy and wouldn't let me have one. So we ended up with a nutty rr and a couple of mad rotties!!
(you can also have some of my Love Hearts as well if you'd like
)
But yes, labradors! All gundog breeds basically. And I have to say mini schnauzers otherwise I fear the Beastie would kill me in my sleep
I also love Greyhounds, whippets and lurcher types. Always have but many members on here have seriously made me really fall for them even more.
And as OH won't let me have a lab *sob* it'll be a greyhound I get next. No more schnauzzies though as I would always end up comparing them to my wee Beastie who is such a dudette its unreal.
I love a good terrier, my patterdale is great but definitely trouble!
I have an ambition to own either a blue or brindle whippet one day.
And I love greyhounds and smooth coated lurchers. I met a whippet x patterdale once which was lovely but I should imagine a bit of a handful!
1. Bostons. My Stella is extra special, though. I mean, how can anyone not love a dog that dances the funky chicken?
2. Saluki
3. Black and Tan Coonhound
4. American Bulldog
5. Dachshund
6. Gordon Setter
7. Labrador
8. Chihuahua
9. Havanese
10. Flat-coat retriever
11. The nice Jack Russells
hehe)
2) Springer spaniels
3) Dalmations (love them, just need a bigger house!!)
4) Cockers
5) Weimeraners
6/7) Flat Coated retrievers/golden retrievers (tie)
8) Nova Skotia Duck Tolling Retriever
9) Saluki
10) A mutt I looked after at a rescue centre: GSD x Golden retriever, called Little Miss Sunshine!! Big blonde puff ball with a beautiful sleek face! and soft as anything
11) Doberman
1) Weineramer (being an owner of one, I would definitley have another now)
2)Mastiff
3)Ridgeback
4)Labrador
5)Flat Coat Retriever
6)Doberman
7)Pointer
8)Vizsla
9)Clumber Spaniel (smaller than I like but cute)
10) Baseball the hound puppy - I miss him
The only person I'm still speaking to is prose (who had JRTs on her list).
How could you all not include..
Sorry, couldn't resist (as I had photobucket open as I typed)...
Seriously, my favourites are
1. JRT (have to be non yappy though like mine)
2. mini Snauzers (sp) (GinaB - I met two brothers at Tyrella on Sat wearing matching purple equifleeces, cutest things you ever saw)
3. blue roan cockers
4. black labs
5. any characterful/cute dog such as prose's stella, blackeventer's Rio etc.
Hmmmm, this is harder to come up with a short list
Greyhounds of course
Whippets
Deerhounds
Shaggy lurchers of any size (but not collie lurchers for some reason)
English Bull Terriers (nearly got one for my last dog, I adore them)
Hungarian Vizlas
Plus the gorgeous dog I keep seeing being walked around Ledbury - it is like a black and tan Pyrenean Mountain dog, and I have nearly screeched to a halt and offered it a new home on many occasions
