Hello All,

We are still wrestling with names for our new arrival. Huge colored filly arrived 2 am Tuesday morning.

Quick bit of background bought a mare then a few months later found out we had a suprise on it's way! So she a bogof filly ;) Dad is thought to be a coloured hunter type about 15.3hh but vet reckons my filly is huge and was amazed my mare who is about 15 hh and Arab x Cob managed to produce this massive baby that she would expect to be out of a 17hh warmblood. ( this shocked me slightly as I am new to this foal lark ) So anyway filly needs a name and as may well be a bit of a heavier type than mum it can't be anything too dainty but at the same time I don't want to call her big bertha :D

So you lovely lot I will attach a picture and you can send me your suggestions x

She is beautiful and definitely looks as though she is going to be quite well built judging by the size of her knees and the amount of bone she has already.I have no idea about names.I tend to go for traditional ones like Puzzle and Jigsaw but as you have a filly I have no idea. I think you should definitely go for something nice and feminine like Fleur or something similar.

Mum's name on her passport is Sharna but previous owner used to call her Trixie as hated Sharna and I adopted Trixie but Beatrice is what I had as her preffered name on passport and proper name. Dad's name we don't know as the lady I spoke to when tracing back her passport and 7 previous owners was a little vauge and the words were "yes we do have stallions and yes they do jump the fences" and "No I don't know when she was covered but think it may have been a 15.3 hunter type coloured gelding" and then said "that's all I can help you with goodbye!" So not the easiest of people to chat too .

But never having had to name a foal before and although I would love to keep her forever life doesn't always go to plan so I'd like a really good strong name to suit her.

I think she looks like a trixy or tricolour pronounced trickalor as she is brown and white with a black mane and tail

but hear are some others
donna
emily
molly
bella
alexa
sadie
samara

but still like tricolour :):):)

The saga continues.

My husbands shortlist is Florence, Ariel, Savannah and Pandora ( mother in law says pandora has dark connitations)

I still like Serendipidy but OH says she's be called "Dippy"

The boys suggestions are based around toilet humour so we won't even go there.....!

Keep them coming there are some lovely suggestions so far :)

If you went with Serendipity you could shorten to ren or seren rather than dippy.

I think cilla is lovely, and dora would be nice too. I actually think Bertha is really nice too. It doesn't have to be Big Bertha, you could give her a full show name that is more dainty but incorproated Bertha...

Libérer- means 'free' in french. made me chuckle when you said your gorgeous filly was a BOGOF! You call call her Libby for short.
