What's to stop me from competing in this bridle, he hunts, SJs, HTs and CXs in it. Would objections be valid if types of bridle to be worn are not stipulated in the rules?
Just a thought.
Showing turnout is always very traditional and as it's the judges view on the day what counts I guess it's down to the judge, if it's within the rules.
If it's local then I still wouldn't bother as even if it isn't in the rules it won't be the done thing. I doubt you'd get an objection to stick either frankly. Showing is so subjective and the tack the horse goes in is something which can legitimately be taken into consideration.
I'm not a competition rider but I did show quite a lot. It just isn't worth trying to argue with them about such issues as you won't change their mind! They've traditional sorts as a rule!
"d) 4-year-olds are encouraged to be shown in snaffles. Swales, Sam Marsh bits and Gags with double bridles are actively discouraged. Bitless bridles are not allowed"
