What do you use with your WH cut saddles? I have just got a new saddle which is WH cut and the flaps are quite long so when the girth is through the girth loops the saddle pad ends up pulled down on the wither. These are cob sized saddle pads and I don't really want to go to full size as I think it will look too big on the pony. He is 14.3hh and the saddle is 17". As the saddle is quite straight cut I was wondering if I should go for a dressage cut pad? Also are there and pads without loops that are not too thick? When I looked before I seem to remember they tended to be the Poly Pad type. Thanks

What brand are you using? The Nuumed WH range fit my WH saddles perfectly, but you would probably need a full size for a 17" saddle. Shame, as I have two mediums in brown, new condition, going begging as have sold the saddle!

Not sure what brand mine is. It is something like a basic Cottage Craft one. Are yours all numnahs rather than saddle pads? I prefer the look of a square on the little pony, although I suppose I could have another look now he has a different saddle.

WH would usually be a numnah as you wouldn't want spare showing when you are in the ring. If you want a saddle cloth one then nuumed will do pretty much anything to order.

At the bargain bucket end :o I'd second the suggestion of Cottage Craft (and IME still last well) for saddlecloths - dressage cuts for numnahs if you don't want to go to Nuumed and aren't doing anything desperately high level.

My Nuumed ones are numnahs for showing but for good quality cheapest dressage squares you can't go far wrong with HKM. I also got a cheap white one from JHL but haven't tried it on yet so can't comment on fit.

When I got my WH saddle earlier this year I bought a Nuumed WH numnah. It was around £25.
I have a cob/medium size for a 17'' saddle and it fits the shape perfectly.

I use numed dressage length brown numnah for 18 inch ideal when saddle. I now use it for every day use. I have a courtlea lamb skin as my show numnah

Will not be showing so not particularly an issue how much shows. So a dressage cut pad such as the HKM ones will not be too straight cut then? Do they come in 3 sizes or one size?

I've got a Nuumed WH numnah for my WH saddle which fits perfectly - I use it for dressage. I'm struggling to find a thicker everyday numnah that fits it, though - there doesn't seem to be a Nuumed WH numnah at an "everyday" price (but have bought a large GP which isn't far off) , and I've also got one of the longer Polypad numnahs which is GINORMOUS!

At the risk of hi-jacking, if anyone can recommend any other thick WH shape numnahs that actually fit well enough to look smart between about £20-35 I would love to know!

There is a wool lined Nuumed WH in a 9oz quilt, can't remember the exact name but it is my ultimate numnah, fits both WH saddle and my dressage saddle - but sadly it was about £65 a few years ago! I get more us out of that one than any of the others as I just brush it through rather than having to wash it each time so kind of worth it, plus pony seems to like it the best.

Yes, I've seen that, or something very like it, and I'm sure it was about £80 in rideaway :eek: but when I win the lottery ... :D
