What’s causing this funky coat?

sweetich mini, I’ve seen her itch worse previously and she hasn’t broken any skin etc. Wormed, lice treated (though I didn’t really think they were an issue) and on balancers/vits. Next time vet is out I’ll cushings test but it doesn’t really look cushingys. If it was coming out of winter I would be more concerned about cushings. The skin is fine and the darker hair just looks normal summer coat consistency, so it’s not hair loss just not growing? Lol

Only thing I can think of is she is super duper sensitive to sprays? The only other time this happened I had treated her with spotinor and she had a patch of the “summer” coat where it had made contact over the back but at no time did she have any skin issue/reaction. That was a few years ago and I haven’t used it since.

This year all she had is botanica sprayed over her a few times a week. None of the rest of the herd have any coat issues IMG_6544.jpeg

Louis gets patches of old hair like that and he is borderline cushings it was the only symptom he had, he tends to get it around coat changing I don't see it as much now because I clip him all year round.

My cushings pony doesn't grow a winter coat, just to be different! My shetland also looked like that coming out of winter and he hasn't got cushings, so I think the difference between coats is more obvious. If yours was a different colour it probably wouldn't be so noticeable either.

I’ll definitely be getting the cushings test (already have one on tablets so it won’t be much more bother) just strange that it’s only happened since the fly treatments.
