Old lady collie dog is about 16 she’s lived with us since 9 years old and was spayed I believe at about 7 years.
We always had boy dogs. They have never shown the slightest interest in her being a girl.
OH lab who’s entire the past few weeks has started to get a bit weird round her. Really interested, dribbling and chattering his teeth, looking like he may try to mount her (but hasn’t). Obviously I’m keeping an eye on things, if they have to stay home together I leave them in separate rooms.
Tonight daughters terrier will not leave her alone. It’s constant and is really bothering her. I’ve currently got her in the corner of the sofa barricaded next to me so I can keep them away from her.
Cecil isn’t giving her a second glance but he’s still young.
Why is this happening? She really doesn’t need this hassle! She likes to snooze in peace. I’m a bit worried it’s the sign of a problem. (With her)

I remember in hindsight the dynamics changing just before Dougal got really ill

Nb not this change but the way the others treated Doug changed

I have had vaguely similar situations and am sure that there is some
odour coming from the dog that is being pestered. I don’t know what but it would suddenly start and the other dogs would not leave my old girl alone. This lasted a couple of weeks and then suddenly she was no longer interesting. She was a rescue golden retriever and had been spayed before coming to live here.

That’s interesting. Nothing sinister then in your case.

One of mine started being pestered by the other two who were constantly sniffing her ear. Nothing apparently wrong with it. However, and I can't remember the timescale she had a massive fit cluster out of the blue and we lost her. Not epilepsy, something neurological, possibly brain tumour. She was 13.

I think maybe anal glands. My spaniel is irresistible to boy dogs even though she was spayed 3 years ago. She has had anal gland trouble and even though they are regularly looked at she still scoots her bottom on grass( Its her special toilet paper!)
