What’s meant by ‘best of homes only’ on sales ads?

At pretty silly prices too. There was a Shetland on a local site for £6000!
Don’t even! I saw one the other day, £1500, shettie youngster, thinks it’s broken as child was on it when they viewed. Playing so roughly with the horse it’s meant to be companion for its needed ABs 🙃. Don’t get me wrong a good child’s Shetland is work £££, but a certified pain in the arse? To be fair it did respect electric fencing…

I’m after a companion, (preferably for free if I’m honest, happy to be retirement/convalescent home 🙃) and people want money for the elderly, crippled or insane at the moment! The market is a wild place.

When I sold my boy last year, I did specify he wouldn’t be going to anyone unsuited, that he needed a home with a job, but also said I was happy for him to be trialed etc. I think the horse market is just hard for both sides. Sellers and buyers all lie.

Well I am about to advertise our PC pony and was going to put this on the advert 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ for me it’s because we really don’t want to part with her but for a few reasons including keeping at full livery and we simply can’t afford 2! I don’t want her going to a home which isn’t going to suit her abilities or a dealer to be passed on…but the rest of the advert is very honest so hopefully it will screen out the day dreamers or those with unrealistic aspirations!

Ultimately you have no control once they are gone I do realise this!

And it’s the time of year, there are always loads for sale Easter time as we come out of winter and kids particularly are looking for their next pony for summer and camp etc
When we were buying for our children you are exactly the type of seller we looked for.

There was a super cool pony I had always admired, so as it looked close to their child out growing it we sidled up and said we would be interested in a conversation if they decided to sell.

We provided her the link to our website (hubby is a trainer and coach) which showed our property in detail as well as testimonials from clients, the details of our PC Chief Instructor and we offered our vet and farrier as a referees as well so they could determine if we had the knowledge and resources to engage professionals regularly.

We didn’t discuss price or ask for a viewing, just left it to them to determine whether we were the type of family that was worthy of their pony. Guess what happened next?

It was a really easy way to start the process……..I was determined to show we landed in the “best of homes category” to get to the front of the line.
