What’s the difference between grackle nose band and flash nose band?

What’s the difference between grackle noseband and flash noseband? I ride my horse in a flash noseband but rode him a couple of times in grackle noseband at competition which I preferred. I’m considering switching to grackle noseband but not If it’s a lot harsher than flash noseband.

Grackle noseband are supposed to be softer than a flash due to the nerves it does or doesn't sit on on the face. Grackle are now BD legal.

Thank you. I purchased the ecorider freedom grackle bridle which is suppose to relieve pressure. I'm definitely considering changing to grackle bridle

Grackle supposed to stop them crossing the jaw as long as it is fitted high enough and correctly. Flash stops them getting bit between treaty, tongue over bit and to keep mouth closed as long as fitted correctly

I consider a grackle less harsh and less restrictive than a flash- they are supposed to be more comfortable for the horse due to where they sit on the face.

I would be guided by the horse, though- if they object to the grackle more than the flash, then obviously swapping isn't a good idea!
