someone advertises a horse......is shot down in flames almost bullied, someone advertises livery......nothing is said?????? HYPOCRISY!!!
I really don't care about people advertising, i just skip the posts and don't really feel the need to comment but today??? OMG a newbie gets jumped, and a older member has nothing said?? anyways as i'm not part of the clique i shall no doubt be shot down in flames too, this forum is unbelievable sometimes, sheesh.
 
Agree with you, i was horrified at certain users response to newby today, it was downright RUDE. Yes she broke the t&cs but was clearly upset and didnt read them - a helpful reminder would do. I really really hate rudeness like that, it doesnt take much to be nice about it does it!!

I'm sure you're not the only one who felt that way lilym.

I'm just a bit shocked that regular members can and do "get away" with advertising under the illusion of being above the rules as they've contributed alot to the forum!

Rules are rules, regardless of who breaks them.

No offence - but nobody here wants to start an arguement.
Some of us were just a little shocked at the abruptness of yours and someone elses replies.


Hopefully this issue is now sorted - we are all grown-ups (even those that aren't are surely mature enough to know anyway) and so know how to talk to others and also how to forgive and forget.
That new user has learnt the hard way not to advertise - lets hope it hasn't put her off the forum.

It was never meant as advertising. I first joined this forum to ask for help when my old lad was really poorly, and have found it nothing but a support to me, and a couple of people in particular went out of their way to help me through his subsequent diagnosis of Cushing's disease and more recently, having to have Kelly PTS due to Liver Failure.

I simply posted about retirement livery because i was after some advice really, and to hear peoples opinions on my offer etc (which i got) and would people who had old horses like this kind of offer.

It wasnt meant as advertising... Just had to state my case really.
 
oh dear SORRIIEEEEEE this is exactly the sort of attitude i was on about!!!!!! the holier than thou i'm better than everyone else approach, well, i'm sorry for not eventing and for not owning a T,B and sorrier than sorry for the MASSIVE HEINIOUS CRIME of posting in the wrong forum.
 
Oh well I guess Admin decided it was breaking the T&C's too - the advert has been removed now.
 
Lilym, this forum has always been pretty much self moderating, so when someone posts in the wrong section, it's quite normal for a user to point it out, and it seems to work better than having power mad mods closing posts and throwing their weight around.
Sal_E is one of the least offensive people on here, and I don't think her comment warranted your outpouring about eventing and TB's...

As for your comments in your original post about an established user getting away with posting about a livery - the user who seems to think you're referring to her, has only been a member for less than four months, and hasn't posted a great deal, so your theory seems a little misplaced...

Actually, I find the advertising posts a tiny bit annoying too. I just do, but I'm the sort of person who will snap at a child for trying to feed my horse

I think everyone is expected to read the terms & conditions therefore there is absolutely no excuse TBH. Although of course, bullying isnt right. I didnt see the posts in question but really HHO Admin should see them and delete them pretty much straight away.
