Sorry, bit of a self indulgent, proud mummy post. Evie has been going to training classes since mid September, mainly to socialise her, but the classes are aimed at training for the KC Good Citizen Scheme. Well tonight we had our Bronze test, and she passed

She did mug the dog warden, who ws testing us, but in the nicest possible way, she just loves everyone. Sadly some failed on their stays, and I was worried fidgety bum would let me down but she sat there like a little trooper, and is now the proud owner of a green and white rosette. Ok not exactly Crufts, but as she is not quite 6 months old I am really pleased with her.

You didn't tell me that last night! I told you she was going to be a star. Did you show the dog warden the 'paw' trick, I practiced it with her this weekend so she's very good!
I have a mock exam at 10 in histopathology... goody.

Sorry, but you were too busy worrying about your macaroni cheese anyway

The dog warden got 2 paws, she thought he was a lovely man . Now all I have to do is persuade her to wear her rosette for a piccy, she just wants to eat it. Good luck with the exam.

Whats histopathology

Evie thinks everyone is lovely! Why not put something else in her mouth before you put rosette on, or you could practice with one of my rosettes so she doesn't eat hers. Histopathology is looking down microscopes at slides of tissue, I have to say what organ/tissue I'm looking at, what cells etc I can see and therefore what was wrong with it eg cancer, pneumonia etc etc. Its not fun.

Ah well done! And at 6 months too. Clever girl.

There were a lot of fidgets in our class when we did our bronze... Have our silver next in a couple of weeks and my girl seems to have caught the fidgets for her 2 min stay. We have some work to do!

I felt really sorry for the ones who moved as they have all been doing their 1 minute stays perfectly in class. Must have been exam nerves. Good luck with your silver, that is next for us but hopefully won't be until the spring.

Yeah I did. I would be disappointed too. ... but there was one girl who entered her cocker and she'd never done a stay or a recall at all. They failed and she was in bits, but insisted they entered. There's no rush.

Our prob is she does her 2 min stay at home and the first few silver weeks of training no problem but recently she seems to have lost a bit of confidence and is looking around a lot in the training hall. Gone back to basics and we'll see how we do. No pressure.
