My RI asked me to try D in a pelham tonight with double reins to see if it helped her canter and also so that I can get used to them if I want to go showing.

All I can say is Wow!

Not only was she soft and responsive to the bit she stayed in a really consistent outline and even tracked up! How a different bit makes her more forward gonig I don't know but I'm liking the result.

Now if only she can go like that in our dressage test on Sat back in a snaffle...

Lol! I'm having a bit of difficulty with getting a consistent outline etc and I've found myself looking at other shaped snaffles etc to see if any might make a difference. If only they were about a fiver cheaper sometimes

I was sceptical (sp?) about sprenger aurigan snaffles till i picked up one for £6 on ebay... Brilliant. It's a turnado, a single jointed loose ring and it suits better than all the other copper inlaid / sweet iron / lozenge ones we tried before.
