After a lot of advise from you lovely people and a bit of soul searching hubby tried out a new instructor last week.
My god! What a difference in Omar! The guy asked hubby to warm him up and within 5 minutes had assessed the situation brilliantly. He then got on board and gave omar the wake up call of his wee small life.
He was paid for a 30 minute lesson, was still there 1.5 hours later for the same money and never looked at his watch once. By the end hubby and omar were going better than i have ever seen then go. Even jumping straight bars which omar always refuses.
I've been brave and am having a lesson with him in a few weeks (see hovis' diary on friday!!)

So to all of you who might be in a rut with schooling, jumping or whatever and have considered trying someone else it might just do the trick. Its really hard not to offend your current instructor but sometimes a chance can work wonders!
For those of you who recommended an instructor - thank you!!

Fantastic news, glad the lesson went well, its so easy not to take the plunge but sometimes its amazing the results that can happen, good luck with your lesson as well

Great news. I had a similar experience with a dressage instructor. Plodded along for months and then got the courage to ask a high level person for a few lessons. Was the best lessons I ever had - horse instantly went better - she too got on and it was nice to see horse can actually look the part lol and better still I was placed in a show shortly after. She never once made me feel inadequate either

Just wish I could afford to travel to her more often
