Right I have not posted on here for ages about my horse. I have a 17hh warmblood who is a rather naughty. I got him in 2010 after my little ex racehorse parted this world and I paid £1 as he was classed as unriddable dangerous and the list goes on, but I did know the people got him from so really understood what I was getting myself into. We went to get him and was so upset by the whole prospect of moving again he was shaking like a leaf and took almost 2 hrs to get him on the trailer to get him home.
When I first got him it took me 45 minutes to get on him and about the same amount of time to get him to go forward. He reared he spun and was a very naughty donkey. But believe it or not this did not put me off, I knew he was a nice horse deep down, but was hugely miss understoon. I went back to basics and re broke him and did loads of join up and playing games with him(he now will play football with me in the school). He started to jumping last year and is really good and now schooling really nicely
Our next major obistical was the fact that he had to go back into the trailer to go to shows and generally introduce him to the world outside out yard. first problem was that he out grew my trailer. New trailer was purchaed in January and we are all systems go.
So this weekend it was D-Day!! I have a friend with a school about 10 minutes up the road and she did pick us up over xmas to lunge him there so on Sunday we went over to her house in our very own HUGE passion wagon of a trailer.
He grew to about 19hh but bless him he was an angel he lunged beautifully stood while I tacked him up and got on WHOP WHOP and schooled really well while all her horses went nuts. We even jumped a couple of fences, he then stood like a poppet by the trailer all tied up while I got him ready to go home!!! WHAT A GOOD DONKEY!!
Back over there this weekend and hoping to get to our first dressage show in April!!!! I am just so proud of him I wanted to share!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
