Well this morning was the most eventful morning i have had in a long time! At 6am this morning (ok not that early but now i am on part livery im not used to it!) someone knocks on my door, i wake up and shout at them to hear - "theres a load of loose horses outside can you come help". First thought is oh crap my stupid horse has got out, then realised i keep him 4 miles away so its not him, so think its my friends on the vet school livery yard.

Jump up in my PJs and stick a coat and shoes on, run out and with the uni security go up to catch these horses. See them and they are only babies, sooo cute!! Not off the vet school but nevermind.... i caught one but the other was so skittish it just followed. Next thing i do is break into the yard (thank god they havnt changed the codes from last year) and lob them in the school. Que lots of calling people (i did wait till 7am but still peed a load of people off) and finding the owners. Then hanging around on the yard for someone to turn up. Turns out they belong to a couple of guys (gypsies - sorry if that is not the correct word but that is what they are) just down the lane.

They described them to a t but had no passports or anything but we gave them back. The ponies were sooo cute!!

So yes that was my morning - why they chose me to wake up over every other student with a horse i still dont know!!

Will add pics one they upload to imageshack

Hope they appreciated all your help ! Always stressful when your not too sure of the whole situation. But anyhow at least all safe and sound - well done

Poor you! Well done for rounding them up and finding the owners!

I don't really get it, why are people unhappy about the 3 year old? Aren't many 3 year olds put in foal before they are broken? At least in the photo she looks to be in good condition.

I wouldn't personally put a 3yr old in foal, esp when many are covered in their 2yr old year. It's just such a stressful process on the body and you may see all the potential in the world in a 3 year old but you still don't know if they're going to be able to apply it. Would rather at least start them, and have a better idea of what they're going to be like and let them strengthen a bit. But I know its far more common place on the continent to breed at 3, break at 4. Just not my style, I don't buy the "she's bored I'll breed her to give her something to do" there's plenty of ground work out there that can be done, taking for walks or even teaching a couple of tricks.

Pony in the OP seems to be in reasonably nick though and there are definitely worse things in the horse world!

poor things ,but just a word of warning it may not be such a good idear to post pics of someones elses horses without permission
.i do appoligise if you have
,but if someone comes on here that knows them or even owns them then it could cause trouble

They owners know the pics are posted online, i asked if he minded as i could explain my mad story and he laughed and said that was fine! Simon didnt clear up the menage, i did!!
