Whilst serving a customer this morning, she noticed the poster Ive got stuck on the counter for our Newmarket Show and naturally we got talking about horses. After a few minutes, she asked if we were the same people who owned Marsara. We told her we had done, until last year, when sadly we lost her (one of the two mares we lost who left us with orphan foals). And guess what she actually owned our mare when she was a yearling. It was great to get the missing information about our mare and hear about her younger days, and she said that her daughter (who was also with her this morning) had been taught to ride on Marsara. She was able to fill in the missing details we didnt know about our mare and we in turn, were able to fill her in on how well she had done for us winning County shows and telling her about Marsaras progeny. She was thrilled to hear how well Marsara how done, especially when we told her that all the progeny wed shown at County level had all won and were also able to tell her about her elder sons and that her 5 year old is due to make his debut over National Hunt jumps later this year. She has asked us to let her know when hes due to make his debut so she can cheer him on.
Shes asked us to bring some photos along for next week of Marsara and her kids, and in return, is going to bring photos of our mare for us in her younger days. Cant wait to see how our beautiful mare looked like as a youngster.
We asked what involvement she now had with TBs, and were even more surprised to hear she has a horse in training with, ironically, the same trainer that one of our ex-racers is working for as a lead horse. He in fact leads her horse out on a daily basis. Now how strange is that!
