I may have found a possible new home for Owen,..... to someone in my village!! She is still thinking about this ( god I hope I dont jinx this now!) but it would be so fab if he stays at home then I can keep an eye on him.
It all started when someone put up a 'wanted' ad in my local feed store last summer and it said only a TB wanted for hacking. And I was saying to my friend the other day, oh you know I saw that advert in the summer, that person sounded perfect for Owen, and I wish that I had given Owen to her back then. Well then my friend says, yes I know that person, and she never found a horse- no one even phoned her up apparently ( which I find crazy considering the number of exracers that must be desperate for homes like that) and anyhow she had given up looking!
BUT the thing is that her mother is now ill and she spends most of the time looking after her so initially she said no, she was not in a position to take a horse on now. So I suggested that if she kept the horse at her yard,( 2mins from my house) I would look after Owen and then she could come and ride him whenever she likes, and then of course she is in charge of paying for him as I would technically be giving Owen to her.
Just hope she agrees- think it is a great solution, and will give peace of mind to both parties...oh and she has had ex racehorses before and loves them, and she has seen Owen hacking out in the village before and thought that he was really beautifull and liked him...so fingers crossed!
