Rode Fly (had him a week now) today and he napped for England. He has got away with it in his previous home for 2 years and was on a roll. It took me 2 hours to do a 45 minute ride as every 100 yards or so he would stop and plant. I REFUSED to give in and after several bucks, rears, leaps etc we managed to do the circuit and get home in one piece. Ummmmmmmmmmm, I must of said "Good Boy" 500 times! (really I wanted to say F****** walk on you g*t)! This could be an issue for a few months or so. I am taking him indoor jumping next sunday (clear round), that will be very interesting. Will keep you posted. No wonder he was 'cheap'!

Well done keep going. Not sure I would want to take a nappy horse jumping untill I got it sorted tho. You know it will nap and your not gonna have 2 hrs to get you in the ring!! good luck with him..

Sounds like my pony when i first got him except he didnt plant his feet, hed just bolt back to home, used to take a good 20mins to force him out the yard. Hes a perfect angel now though. Keep at it!

Llwyncwn, how funny, love the bronco! (hope thats not too accurate). Oh well, nothing ventured, nothing gained! At least the surface is guaranteed to be soft!

Like you said - you now know why he was cheap - did they mention napping at all when you bought him.

But, just think he can't get much worse and if you have beaten him today, tomorrow he will give in quicker

Good luck
