what about alfa-beet ?

I use it. Rough price £9 a sack - that lasts me about 3weeks (maybe slightly more - never really looked!) with 2 on it.

Feed it to my mare (2 small scoops in her AM and PM feeds) to maintain condition. She's unclipped but last year when she was clipped I fed more and used Alfa-A with Oil alongside it and she looked really well all winter. She was never silly on it, even when on box rest. It was also the first winter that she continued to eat her entire breakfast and tea once the nicer grass started coming through so she obviously liked it.

OH's horse has it. Big heaped scoop twice a day. As its fibre based, he gets loads with Alfa A Oil and TS balancer. He is very shiney!

I have just started using it on 2 that need some condition, the gelding is doing well on it but our little mare wont eat it so it really isn't helping.

Not really, I had previously been using Kwik beet and if I gave her too much of that she left a bit. She can't have anything heating which is why we tried alfa-beet, but she really doesn't like it. I have to say it doesn't look very appealing when soaked!!

15mins isnt too bad but hot water is a bit of a pain - boiling kettle at yard! I'l have a look at whats in the safe and sound - lol i should know seeing as Tinker had it for nearly a year before he left!!

Safe and sound doesnt really have enough oil in it, horsey isnt keen on having alot added to his feeds - well wasnt before so prob even less keen now that he hasnt had it for 2 years! Alfa A oil or Mollichaff alfalfa oil are the 2 im left choosing between and looking for umolassed beetpulp to go with it - quick soaking type preferably!

I fed my TB gelding a heaped scoop fibrebeet, alfa A oil and cooling mix and he looked lovely on it. it took 15 mins to soak and a bag lasted me about a month.

I don't know about alfa-beet, but I used fibre beet and even though it looks like cow pats, they absolutely loved it. I ended up saving the last few inches of the bag for "special teas" for them when they'd worked really hard or been extra good at shows.

Just moved my horse onto Alphabeet from Speedibeet - he loves it!! Paid £8.25 a bag for it so its about £1 cheaper than Speedibeet. Not sure if it will make any difference to him as its too early to see (could do with a bit more cover - typical TB!). It certainly looks much nicer than Speedibeet though!

I use it for our lad who is very prone to heat up on sugar beet but he is fine on this. He also needed to put on weight and he looks great. His feet are brill as well which is helped by the Alpha A in it.

My daughters little pony who is 32yrs old can only have Alpha beet as he gets a really bad upset tummy with any other beet!! He too looks fab and they both have a great shine on their coats.

I feed my EPSM mare on Alfabeet as it is brilliant for hiding her oil in.
