Looking for some advice..

Ordered some breeches online through a tack shop that came up on a google search, it all looked legit and up to date... chose my breeches and ordered them. The money was transferred straight from my account that day and I received several emails to confirm my order.

That was nearly 3 weeks ago now. I have sent emails asking for an update, tried to phone. No response to my emails and having just tried to send a third it has been bounced back stating the mailbox does not exist! The phone number just goes to an answerphone.
They have take £60 from my account which inc P&P.
How can I get my money back ?????
I tend to fly off the handle about these things and would inclined to leave sh*tty messages but ultimately just want my money back so I can go elsewhere.

Also, the website is still online and is still allowing people to purchase through it!

I too would be inclined to leave the s***** message, but try to stay calm, write down the facts, and leave a message which involves the words fraud/legal action etc- you may if legit you will get a fast response,

if not..what about your bank? would they not intervene in some way?
Is there an address for the shop...send round some burly lads to kick the breeches out of 'em

Did you pay by credit or debit card? If you paid by credit card contact your card issuer and reclaim the money. If you paid by debit card, send them a recorded delivery letter stating that you want either a refund or your goods within 7 days. If no joy after that report them to trading standards and the police as they have committed fraud.

It was debit card....I like your idea Scotsmare. Might try that.

I have already left several voicemail messages with no response and also mentioned that I would be taking legal action if I have no joy.

Havent tried my bank yet, might give them a ring and ask for advice too.

It's always best to use a credit card when buying on line and one with a small limit in case of fraud (where your credit card details are stolen). If you have a dispute, your credit card company takes it up which is a great help as they have their own lawyers. In this case it would be quite simple to get the money back as the goods were not delivered.

I don't think this applies to debit cards as the charge is made there and then, but worth asking your bank.

If the bank can't help you need to write to the company (provided they have an address on the website), give them seven working days to either send you the goods or refund the money, and send it recorded delivery. If they do not reply your local Trading Standards should be able to help.

It wouldn't be Hoofhearted Equestrian would it?!

I had major trouble with them recently. They took my cash quite happily and weeks went by without delivery of my order. No answer on the phone, email etc.

Eventually I was able to get a refund via PayPal by opening a dispute (that got a quick response funny enough!), but that's only because that was how the website took payment, not sure about other types of payment merchants.

Good luck.
