What age did you start riding????????????

First got involved taking my daughter (then aged 7) for lessons 9 years ago. Bought her first pony a year later and decided to have a go myself aged 40. Gave up aged 40+ a little bit!! (Fell off out hacking on a road and broke my arm + hip) tried again when I had recovered but I felt too nervous.

I do now however have 6 (3 Broodmares + youngstock) of my own and daughter has 2.

My lovely OH gave up our gorgeous home he had built ( yep including laying all the bricks himself etc) and moved to the wreck we now live in so we could have land!! Totally addicted

Started riding at 8, first ride was on a pony called Raddish, as soon as I got my bum on the saddle he bucked and I fell off the other side, lol, got straight back on, never looked back.

I was 7 when I started having lessons, then I got my 'first' pony at 11- he wasn't a first pony, he was a 4 year old 14.2hh Connemara that had come from Ireland a week before we went to see him.
I learnt more from him in the first couple of weeks than I did in the 4 years of been at the Riding School!

I started riding lessons aged 4, daughter started at the same age!! I've never owned, but would love to at some point..... Realistically it'll probably be a pony for daughter rather than a horse for me!!!

Superb. That did make me laugh. Do all fellas start older? is it the time it takes us to cave in to the OH's obsession?
