I've come to the conclusion, after seeing my pony doing a gorgeous floaty trot around the field, that he must be a welsh D x (as he's coloured, so can't be a full?)

At 14.2hh he's a bit of a tiddler and whilst I'm more than happy that he can carry me (as long as I slow up on the cake! :D ), I do look a tad silly at 5'10!

I know certain breeds finish growing or generally mature a bit older than others, so what kind of age is a D done?

Don't worry, he's not going anywhere, even if he shrinks abit! :D

Thanks for reading, I'd offer you some lovely chocolate cake but I sopent all my money on miracle grow for the pony! :D

mine is just 8 and i think has finally finished filling out. he's prob onyl grown about half an inch in height since he was 5, but has changed shape dramatically.

Like everyone else has said, 8 or 9 seems to be about right- mine didn't grow upwards much past 5 or 6, but filled out a lot after that. I also found that he didn't mature mentally until he was about 8- it was a bit odd, seemingly over-night he really started knuckling down to work and became much more sensible. Mind you, he never entirely outgrew 'cheeky pony', he just developed a sense of occasion, so he'd be a little angel if you were nervous but if you were getting a bit cocky then he soon brought you back down to earth!

Toby welsh cob X and he's grown and changeed shape in the last year or so - he's 7 this year. he's grow a good inch but changed shape dramatically - he used to be very welsh cobby pony like and is now much more horsey and warmbloody.
