My dog is a staffy x, came from a rescue centre. I think maybe a boxer? What does anyone else think? He's a lot bigger than a typical staff and has a more pronounced snout!

A staffie x boxer is not likely to have a more pronounced snout than either of those breeds.

More photos please?

Hm, I agree not a boxer cross. Something makes me think GSD in there. Chances are there's possibly a good number of ingredients in there ;)

Im another who dosnt see Boxer, i thought possibley pointer but its very tricky, he even has a snout like my male Dobe so Im also thinking a mixture.

But the best bit is he is a very handsome guy who looks in tip top condition and he is very lucky to have been adopted by you.:)

Ah bless you all :) He is handsome, but I'm biased. GSD is a thought? He had a very hard life so I'm told, was in a dog pound that was closed down due to a member of staff secretly filming the manager physically abusing the dogs. There was a case of 2 dogs being let fight too, which resulted in one dying :( He was then pulled by the rescue and spend 7 months in kennels as no one wanted him. I saw him on facebook and fell in love. Already had 3 dogs, JR, patterdale and a dobie, but just couldnt get him out of my mind.

Had him almost 8 months now and his social skills with other dogs have improved. I think spending so long in kennels/pound as a young dog, didn't help. He finds new dogs very exciting!

He is the most loving dog we have ever had, craves his cuddles and follows me everywhere. He is very sensitive too, if OH is watching football and shouts at the tv, he gets worried. When we first got him, he would cower when we came in, as if he expected to be told off, but he has now realised that he only gets cuddles when we arrive home :)

He is the apple of me eye, I adore him. Thank you for all your replies.

Have to say I can't really see GSD, but could well be lurcher. He is a lovely looking lad, glad he now has a loving home sounds like he has had a rough time in the past .

the only reason GSD came to my mind was that in the US I used to see lots of GSD x Dobies - and they had similar look to this though with various patterns and shades of black and tan. I thought dobie might be too fine in the muzzle to produce that shape...so pondered the GSD.

Yes he does have quite a fat muzzle. My dobies is much finer. Some sort of sight hound would make some sense. He is always scanning the fields staring into the distance for something to chase :) I call him the staffy sausage if anyone asks what he is lol :)
