What annoys you about your horse

Phoenix very rarely annoys me, mostly he picks me up when other things annoy me. Sometimes he can be a little clingy so if I go and see him in my lunch break I will wander through the fields, then he will follow me all the way back - so I feel guilty when I have to go and leave him at the gate. That can be annoying, but that's all.

If you leave anything on her stable wall she picks it up and drops it in her water bucket!!! gloves, mobile phone, hats etc.

The way he stands just the other side of the mud when I go to get him in, so I have to wade through it and drag him to the gate

He hates walking through the deep mud and loves to see my wellies get sucked off.

Lady that she gets over excited hacking in company and that she's not bigger

Fudge that he can be so rude and is evasive (not sure if that's the right word) when being schooled.

Daemon grey youngster steals things....like hammers, torches, and runs away with them laughing.
She also tries to get into cars, JCBs etc - I think she may be a Chav car thief and am always looking out for burnt out car wrecks with hoofprints on them.

the fact that he has to mix every lump of poo up in his bed as he rarely stands still for long, such a fidget!!! even at almost 22 years old!

Isnt really annoying, just feel sorry for horse, when you muck em out in the morn and they have poo'd in their water bucket>>
frown.gif
why do they do that, is almost like they take aim!!!!!

there isnt anything that annoys me with the big man, apart from the fact im constantley mucking out and going through tons of hay and straw atm where he's on box rest !!!

I can't leave anything on his door because he throws it on the floor (he doesn't do this if I'm not around though, only when he knows I'm there because he knows it annoys me!!).

His refusal to canter on the correct leg on the left rein drives me MAD!!!

But he's still my perfect ponio!!

I dont think Ellie ever really annoys me, but she often baffles me! The one thing I wish she didnt do is spook on the road, purely because it is so dangerous
frown.gif
I dont mind her mucking around anywhere else (although spooking last year at the shrubs adorning a dressage arena at a show was VERY annoying) but she is so inconsistent on the road; one day she will be an angel, and the next I fight with her constantly, just because every little thing is apparently a demon lying in wait for her.

She does plenty of things that may annoy some people, but even they are inconsistent, so none of them can be held against her!

the fact that he effortlessly gets every light coloured bit of him filthy - even under 3 rugs in the winter

he definitely wants to be brown, esp his tail

That my mare can show for a moment just how brilliant her paces are and then suddenly change gear and pretend that she doesn't know what on earth transitions are or how to bend correctly.
She can also open doors, teeth on bolt, open door look at her handy work and walk up the barn to say hello to friends..it drives me crazy. Currently she is working on how to open the door with the leadrope clipped on.
My boy doesn't really annoy me, he nips when you do his rugs, is generally grumpy when you go in his stable, box walks until you feed him, barges out of his stable..ahh but i still love them both, adds to their character all the cheeky things they do

The fact that I can't leave anything within reach of Missy (especially rugs over her door) she'll drag it into her stable and trash it adolympics Divaishness can be a pain

When he thinks a bush is going to jump up and bite him, or ven a blade of grass!!
And sometimes while he's tied up he'll step back and instead of walking forward to release the pressure he'll freak out and act a Tw*t!! So he has a bungee thing to tie up to.

I have a huge list:

1) That he is so spooky
2) That he is so difficult to Sj
3) That he is so capable yet rarely performs to his capabilities
4) That he is so lazy Sj
5) That he is so rude Sj
6) That he will try and kill you clipping his belly
7) That he will try it on at every opportunity
8) That he tries to kick you when grooming his belly
9) That he never comes to the gate unless the weather is miserable.
10) That he is incredibly difficult to ride.

The fact that I didn't find him until he's 12 and would have loved to have had him as a baby, he's great!

Oh and maybe the fact that he has sensitive skin and is prone to "lumps", but now I'm just being picky.

My mare can be so IGNORANT! Like when you are walking haer in from the field she will just stop and stare at you like she has forgotten how to put one foot in front of the other. She is also ridiculously clingy and hates being on the yard on her own. Ok to hack alone tho bizarrely.
Gelding, that he constantly reminds me how good he can be and that it is entirely my fault we still fall apart at competitions!! Oh and he still tries to jog if out hacking in company and he isn't in front....we still have big arguements about that!
Love them both to pieces though and I am sure there are things I do that annoy them too!!
