Ive got a rather lean 3 n half yo section d at the moment whos lost a bit of condition, so hes fed at the moment decent haylage, 2 cups of blue chip with mollichop calmer and some garlic, but thinking of moving over to speedi beet with the blue chip and micronisde linseed to get abit more condition on him over the next couple of weeks and then maintaining his weight (he is in work at the moment as started breaking).
What does everyone think of my plan? Its so hard to figure out what you need feed them to put condition on without fat, as mine is rather lazy at the moment needs abit more energy and a little bit more condition!! Arghhhh minefield!!! Think im going to ring Saracen feeds this afternoon after seeing them at Royal International and see what they think!
All mine get fast fibre, pro balance, linseed, mag ox, tumeric, ground pepper and a handful of hi fibre nuts. all year round then haylage in winter hwen they in stables.
A mug of Alfa-A Lite and half a mug of pony nuts once a day to have her suppliments with. She lives out 24/7 so just has this with grass.
I won't be giving her hay in the field as she does fine on her small feed and grass alone, plus I don't like feeding her hay dry as it gives her a nasty cough.
