I have the same problem! Actually thinking of getting hoof boots to put over but they'll probably get destroyed! maybe the neoprene ones would work?

I use the westropp petal boots, and not because I like the noise they make

IMO the neoprene ones are nice and soft, so very unlikely to cause rubbing, but they get scuffed through quite quickly so they're not very good value for money. If you can find very cheap ones or even used ones, then this is an option if you don't mind replacing it regularly.

The more expensive types with built in 'heel bulbs', don't stay put where they're supposed to stay, so the heel bulbs bit end up at the front or the sides, which just irritates me!

The westropp ones can spin around freely, so providing the strap isn't done up too tightly or too loose, then they'll always fit very well. However, the individual petals sometimes tear off from the strap and would then have to be replaced, but I've found very cheap spare petals on ebay, also used petal boots, which I then use as spares.

(Don't think any overreach boots are without problems during the winter/wet weather though. Mud will collect underneath the boots, and it won't dry out whilst the boots are worn. But luckily it's summer now!)

There are £5.99 ones on ebay, double Velcro I replace mine about every 3 months mine wears his 13 hrs a day

I got a pair of double velcro pink ones in a bargain bin and he hasn't over reached since I put them on 2 weeks ago. They are pristine (apart from the colour). My advice is, therefore, any pair that might embarras your horse should be good!

Mine also has heart bars and I always use cheapo - about £8- neoprene ones from ebay and have been really pleased with them. They have been repaired a few times by me but as they are so soft they have never rubbed his ultra thin tb skin and he wears them 12 hours at a time.
I quite often find one discarded in the field and probably should not tempt fate by saying it, but he has never lost a shoe while wearing them.

My last guy went through rubber ones at a phenomenal rate. I invested in some Woof Wear Kevlar boots and they were brill and saved me money overall.
