what are the best toys?

Hi, winters coming and i need ideas to keep my madam happy in her stable alone...Any tips or home made toys?....its impossible for me to strap anything to the ceiling, im going to try apple in the water and one of those plastic balls which releases treats, but was just wondering what u all do to occupy your horse?

hide carrots in the haynets... tie up swedes...depending on the treat ball you get, if you get the one with one big hole i always put chaff in with the treats/nuts as it takes longer for them to get the stuff out.
Usual licks and stuff...

I have a snack a ball in one stable, and a jolly ball in the other, with some plastic bottles tied up with baler twine.

I cant give my horse the balls with treats in, he bounces them of the walls, gets very frustrated and jumps on them.

I hide carrots in the haylage net and around the stable.

It is possible to drill a hole in a swede and tie it up to a tie ring.

i turn mine out all day with good rugs, haylage and friends!! and work them 5 days out of 7 or on walker! i am lucky that i dont need to leave them in to get bored, and have lights to work when dark! when they come in aat tea time they eat and drink and eat hay/haylage,topped up around 10 pm and skipped out and go to sleep, turned out about 7 to 8 am dependant on daylight. none of mine have shrunk in the rain yet!
