I am trying to buy some of the books I read when I was younger for my daughter (of course I am not going to read them again - LOL) but I can't remember the names of some of them.

1 was about a young boy who bought a wild chestnut pony at an auction and of course managed to tame and ride. It was quite an old book and I think it was called the chestnut pony but I can't find any record of it?

The next one was about a group of people who went pony trecking, I remember there was something about an ancient necklace they found being stolen by one of the treckers?

The last one was about a family of kids (3 I think) who didn't have a horse and found one in a field nearby, I think the horse had killed the owners daughter but I might be getting that mixed up, the only other thing I can remember is the youngest child was called Dicken.

Anyone have any idea what these books are?

Rebel Pony - I have it - its my favorite..... There was a girl whos father was a horse dealer, she helped him to 'tame' the pony who had to ride another horse for a spoilt rich kid - Is that the same book?

I also loved the 'Jackie and the ....' books

The last one you mention is "Wish for a Pony" by Monica Edwards. Tamzin Grey, daughter of local vicar, has little brother called Dickon, best friend is Rissa. Tamzin ends up getting AngloArab pony called Cascade via a chap who is rescued from a shipwreck. The kid who originally owned Cascade had been killed when she fell off him and the family had wanted his destroyed. I LOVE that book!!!!!
