What are these lumps?

Hello, I would like some help/advice on what to about table spoon size lumps on my loan horses back, they are on the right hand side where her saddle goes, I'm not sure what they are. The lumps don't seem to bother her though seem to be itchy and they're spreading further back.
Her diet hasn't changed though she has recently been brought in for the winter, we have eco compfey bed which is new to her. I think it maybe her rug and numnah as they rather dirty though I am washing them today, any ideas of what they could be would be very helpful, thanks in advance :)
 
Think you may have answered you own question with the dirty numnah!
I try and have enough numnahs to last me a week, use them once, then a new one every time, wash them all at the weekend :)
 
Don't use your usual wash powder as she may be sensitive to that, use something non-biological or specially designed for pets.
Other than that theres not much you can do but wait for them to go.
As long as they're not causing her any discomfort you should be fine :)
