Just keeping an eye out for bargain second hand boots, these keep popping up on my searches. I presume that are total tat but I wonder if anyone has given them a try as they are so cheap. Just out of interest as these are NOT something I'll be taking a punt on. The tread pattern looks hopeless, apart from anything. And I doubt they'd stay on?

I have a pair from shires. They are only meant for temporary movement of the horse in the event of a lost shoe, which is what I bought them for - so horse wouldn’t be footy, or hoof break up too much when walking from stable to field over stoney tracks. They are freakin’ useless, as the straps just don’t work to keep the boot on at all.

I got the Shires ones ages ago but they are only suitable for poulticing and not too good at that.

I had something similar a few years ago. Fine as a poultice boot in the stable but no good for turning out. Had to revert to nappy and duct tape.

They've been around for decades. I remember seeing them in my local tack shop in 2000 (when I got my first pony). As Lizziebell says, they're a temporary solution to a lost shoe, not for long-term turnout or riding.
