what are they? thoughts please

my horse has had 2 "spots" on his back since i got him - thats nearly 1 1/2 years now. i have no idea what they are, except that it is not ring worm as it has not spread and i have not got it from him ??

they are in perfect alignment to each other just loins along his spine

what do you think they are? they are not saddle sores as they are behind the saddle.

I knew a horse which was allergic to fly bites, he had lumps all over him in the summer, some of which stayed there for a long time and then turned white though not sure for that long, unfortunately he had to be pts before the lady had him 18 months, so not sure if they would of stayed that long. Or just old injury?

not at the moment, he only wears a waterproof and lightweight rug when it is very windy or is going to rain. he is in at night out during the day?

could be anything!!! but my bet would be an old injury of some kind... not sure what could have caused it, but i bet something did if they havent changed at all in a year and a half

I'd go for insect bite scars. Daisy got some insect bites just after we got her two years ago and they left little bald patches on the back just like this

My horse has one of these on his flank. I've always assumed it's a scar of some type. Doesn't seem to bother him and has never spread in the 5yrs I've had him. I'll keep an eye on this thread just in case someone says differently.

they look a bit like sarcoids to me

there is a type of sarcoid that looks like that, my horse has one-vet diagnosed it. it's not a problem and doesn't seem to be growing at all.

The first smaller one looks like a skin tag left from a previous nick in the area, the second looks a little like a flat sarcoid but they come in so many different shapes and sizes, have you tried anything to heal them at all?

no, havent put anything on them as they dont bother him, so just let it be see what they do naturally.
not sure it fits sarcroids, but then i dont really know!

he also has a hernia, could he have got them from then?
