What are you doing with your horses in this weather?

Mine is out 24/7 unrugged. Might loose some of that grass belly i suppose. I must admit he did have a LW on during the storms last week but then straight back off.

He is the only one on my yard who is still unrugged, maybe i should be feeling guilty lol!

I have been at work all day. Just been over to them and all 3 shaking and unhappy, so just bought them in and rugged them up.
Result, happy horses and me not worrying that they are shaking all night! (PS they are all wooses in this weather!)
PPS- More More Pants!

No i love riding in the rain. Also i love going to shows when it's raining as noone else turns up. It's the only way Lucy will ever win anything.

Yup, pant's weather!!! Since new horse came home less than 2 weeks ago its rained every day! I think he's getting a bit peed off as every time I bring him in to ride the heavens open! Had a lesson with thunder and lightning the other day........got soaked to the skin but he was a very good boy and didn't bat an eyelid thank god! He's only 4 so wasn't sure how he would take it!
Did manage to lunge this morning in a 20 min break in the rain, but he's out now with a rug on, he doesn't seem to feel the cold though.

Pooey pooey pants weather! Have been checking metcheck everyday trying to sort out when I can ride without getting too wet!

no your not the only one who likes riding in the rain im not the worlds biggest fan but my horse puts weight on easily and gets excited if he gets more than a day off so with crap weather well i still have to ride in it lol

My mare goes out at night and comes in in the day so shes been in all day and was being quite restless but none of the other horses on my yard are going out. Its been heavy rain all evening and is due to clear later but shes going to have to stay in all night. Will be up to my YO if she goes out in the morning. The field might be too wet.

Mine was shivering and wet, but wouldnt let anyone catch jer, silly moo!! So after 15mins of chasing her about, she was lunged in the rain (useful water schooling as our school is flooded!) then had dinner with a thermatex on to dry her out, then back out with a ear to tail LWT on

Mine are all natives - they live out including mare and foal , it's not cold and they won't melt!! they don't seem bothered to be honest, the grass is growing well so they have plenty to eat and if they do shiver a bit it helps keep their weight in check!

She isn't being ridden this week due to lameness and is on 24/7 field rest because of this, but she is a great fat welsh sec D so I have no problems with her being outside and without a rug.
