Normally, I keep mine in until the frost has gone then let her out at lunch but it doesn't look like melting today! Do you keep yours in or just turn them out for a couple of hours?
We have only thick frost at the moment, so I turn my mare out at lunchtime still wearing a muzzle as I daren't risk it and she comes in between 4-5pm. I soak her hay but the last couple of days the nets have been frozen with ice, I've thought about not soaking it but I'm so scared.
Someone told me my mare couldn't go out in the field if its thick snow as it cuts off the blood supply, is this true?
