I only have 2 stables so Im bringing the "panicky" horse in and the 2 little old ponies, my Welsh D is usually quite sensible but will be shut into the yard where the others are stabled anyway as luckily its very enclosed so he wont be able to see the flashes from the village! I will be out with them until our local display is over. My boyfriend who's staying with me will be bringing one of his dogs over as he has panic attacks over stuff like this.

Bloody fireworks - not really needed anymore TBH!

All will be stabled, the 2 oldest are used to them going off above the stables but I'm worried about DA. Have a tube of sedalin for him & will leave the radio on.

Damn things are beyond a joke, most people use them to cause distress & the government won't get off it's backside & ban the sale to the public because "people may attempt to make home made ones" Aye right!

Ed will be out in the field, he and his field mate usualy take themselves into the furthest (or the highest one) field under the trees and just stand there.
They are both oldies and have always been fine with them (touch wood they are ok again this year). My dog will definatly be inside as he hates them and panics alot so he will be glued to the side of who ever is in the house.
Sadly I will be at uni so cannot be there with them

I'll be fetching them in before it gets dark! They're in a barn system anyway, so shouldn't see much, and it's quite isolated so will be fairly quiet for them.

Chloe is not keen on fireworks, and it's a battle to get her in from the field once they start going off as she freezes to the spot.

Gosh, I'm so lucky. None of ours, nor the dog, bat an eyelid. So they'll all be out, as usual! I think they are pretty cool about it because we have so many shoots near us all winter, so will probably jump a bit and gallop to the gate at the first one, then watch the rest!
Hope no one has any major problems with theirs this year.

My paddock is at the bottom of several gardens and last year we had fireworks landing in it!! It was very stressful for me although the ponies didn't seem too upset. I have moved them to my friends place this year which is well away from anything..

They will all be in the field as usual.

Not really bothered by bangs too much as used to neighbours shooting int he fields.... however was a bit distracting for me when i riding Blue last night!

Will be using loads of cotton wool (stuffed in ears) and be sitting in the stables with the radio on as loud as possible.
Tom is petrified of loud bangs (he was shot about 7 years ago

The local racecourse is nextdoor to us and they are having a big display on Saturday night so will be doing it then and also on the 'proper' bonfire night too.

Radio on and spending the whole weekend in the stable as the fireworks seem to go on and on throughout the night even though there is an 11pm curfew!

Useless government!

My horse is always in at night anyway, so I will just make sure he is in well before dusk. The companion pony lives out at the moment, but I'm going to bring him each night for the next week or so just in case.

The horses can see the fireworks going off from their stables but they are nomally a long way away. If there are lots about, I might leave the stable lights and radio on to lessen the impact.

All 3 are in at night anyway now. They will came in about 3pm and get them happy. Then I will be down with them from about 6 till late. Our Shetland hates them and after the week we've had he's not really in the best state he grieving for willie. So I don't want him being on his own.
Maddie and sandy get a bit upset but they soon get over it, then go back to eating their hay.

We've had fireworks here for about 3 wks already

Mine will be in, but I am going to swap Emerald and Touchy into each others stables, Touchy isnt bothered by the fireworks whereas Em got a bit upset the other night, I think he could see the lights and sparks, so if he goes in Touchy he wont be able to see out of the stable block.

My regular lot don't seem to mind fireworks at all so I leave them out. Even the year one of the neighbours had a display resembling WWIII they were OK. However, this year we have a new pony and I'm not sure how she will react. I suspect she is the type to be stressier in the stable than when left out, so will leave out and keep an eye on her. I'm sure she will be fine with the odd bang and sparkle, my real worry would be if one of the immediate neighbours decides to have an Armageddon style display

I wont stay in the stables, mainly because I love my sleep

on a serious note, if a horse becomes really stressed there isnt much you can actually do without endangering yourself. so long as stable is safe ignorance can be bliss.

Leave the lights on so the horses dont register the light from the fireworks as much, and as already said turn radio one loud!

They will be in as usual - TBH I have never had or known a horse that has a problem with fireworks. Plus we live next to an RAF base and shooting happens on the yard, so short sharp bangs are pretty much ignored by our lot!

I never realised how lucky I am, our yard is next to a fairly busy dual carriageway so no one really has fireworks around the area.

ours are in at night anyway.they should be fine as the yard is pretty much isolated.there are a few houses a mile or so down the road but not sure if the occupants are likely to be letting off fireworks!

Not sure what to do with my youngster. My other 2 are fine having virtually lived next door to one of the biggest displays in the S. East for years, though I did used to stable them as the rocket sticks used to come down in the field.

So, think I will leave them out, hoping old ponies have calming effect on youngster.

I'll be there all Friday, Saturday and Sunday night keeping an eye out. Have got to move them up into surburbia on Sunday afternoon anyway as the farm I normally keep them on is having fireworks and a bonfire right next to their field, so I can't get away from it.

Hope girlie is OK.

I suppose if she stresses out Friday night I can get some Sedalin from the vets on Saturday.

I brought mine in overnight for the winter last Saturday just in case anyone let off any fireworks early..... they are kept in the middle of nowhere pratically .......as I dont trust anyone .... neurotic or not!!!

I HATE FIREWORKS!
