What are you feeding your grass-kept pony at the moment?

Billy (13.2 NF) is kept out 24/7 (with field shelter). Grass in the paddock looks very good still (not much variety tho). We've been putting some hay down, sometimes he eats it, sometimes he doesn't. Also giving a couple of scoops of Happy Hoof a day which he wolfs down, plus the odd carrot/swede. He looks fine, but being a typical mum I am worried he isn't getting enough to eat/is getting too much other stuff  Old owner said he didn't feed anything except the odd bit of hay.

My 3 live out 24/7 with shelter, one in rugs the other 2 are not. They get a couple of carrots and parsnips sometimes a Swede in the eve when i check them (friend checks them in the morn but they get nothing). They are all good doers and fat at the min. my boy in-particular put on weight over the winter  They are only now coming back to a realistic weight, which will be monitored, but for the time being they're not getting anything else...

My three live out on 4 acres over winter with good grazing, none are rugged; They get Linseed, Magnesium,, Copper with a small handfull of Fast Fibre once a day. No hay. Only my loan pony is very overweight :( had her for two weeks now and she's already lost 30 kilos with exercise! :) Other two are just right

mine is getting half a scoop (big round ones) of safe and sound + d&h daily vits and mins as not enough in the grazing and not getting enough safe and sound to make up the vit and min content needed. That's it, she's on the fat side and certainly doesn't need any more. They should be dropping weight this time of year ready for the flush of grass in spring. If he is still too fat now then you will have little hope come spring/summer getting the weight off him.

If they need hay, they'll eat every scrap of it when you put it out. That and they'll be losing weight without. Sounds like your pony just needs a bit of chaff with a vit/min supp. Pretty much what my lot get - filler and supplements lol!

I am feeding my 13.2 good doer new forest who lives out half a scoop of dengie good doer and a handful of slim and healthy. He is not having hay as there is plenty of grass and he is too fat. His coat sparkles and he has plenty enough energy he is a british native pony so well designed to live off just grass really.

Our 16.3 warmblood and selection of various ponies eat alfa a and sugarbeet twice a day. If they ar'nt waiting for a feed or quickly come to call they don't get one. All look fab. :)
