With all this bad weather, mucking out and lack of riding I thought it would be nice to look ahead to Spring! So what is everyone looking forward to most/what goals do you have?

I bought my new horse in October, knowing that it was a tough time to buy but thinking that I could get the hard bit out the way first!! So I'm looking forward to....

*seeing what he looks like with his nice sleek short coat
*24/7 turnout
*spending evenings after work doing nice things like schooling/jumping/spuddling around, rather than the mad rush to get the mucking out done under floodlit yard
*long picnic rides through the woods
*the smell of suncream and flyspray
*comparing before and after photos from when I bought him
*horsey baths on the yard
*riding and poo picking in vest tops

Goals...

*to get him schooled nicely and build up our (my) confidence jumping
*to have fun and enjoy my new boy :D

Can't wait!! Not long to go now :):)

I got my new horse the week before Xmas and its been seriously tough with us bonding and this aweful weather.
The evenings are getting lighter and we are really starting to get along and get to know each other ... we can both kill when hungry .. who knew :o

So I'm looking forward to all the things you are except the washing her as i feel she will try to kill me! Might dope and hog tie her ;)

Your post has made me smile, roll on the lovely weather :D

•Riding after college (usually don't get home until half 6 so can't wait to ride out in the evenings!
•Taking him out to shows and rides. He was kept on an inner city yard for 9 years doing not a lot and before that was a racehorse so I can't wait to get out with him and have fun!
•Going to the beach! :D

Same goals as you :)

Looking forward to working more with Chloe. She was doing well before the bad weather hit!

Other than that, daylight. I have felt better taking vitamin D supplements and magnesium, but really need that daylight, now.

Ooh and growing veg! Got all my seeds ready and seed potatoes. Just need the summer to play ball!

Being able to feel my toes :D

Riding in the evenings
No mud
The fact that my hubby WILL be riding by then (he just doesn't know that yet)
My youngster actually having white socks, rather than mud coloured legs!

Goals for 2013- having 3 rideable horses (one is being restarted, one is being backed and the other just needs some schooling)

The clocks changing, longer days horses going into a nice fresh field.
Looking for a new wee event horse, although wih the amount of events lost in Scotland im wondering why !
If anyone knows any nice ones capable of BE100 feel free to pm me :D

Being able to hack out in the evenings!! Luckily my sharer hacks my horse out a few afternoons a week so he doesn't get bored but I certainly need some long, fast hacks for my sanity!

By the end of spring/beginning of summer, donovan should be broken to harness, so, I cant wait to go for a drive with him!!!!

no mucking out, 24/7 turnout, more money!!! because i wont have to buy feed, hay, straw etc, going to the beach, going for a hack in the evenings during the week, unfrozen pipes.
But that's about it, apart from the above, i love this weather! i hate it when its warm because im naturally a very warm person and i just get too hot in warm weather so summer for me is torture! Also in summer you get flies and i don't like flies, and that i can't eat or drink anything sweet outside because i get a thousand wasps flying after me, and i dont like that i have to cover myself in SPF 50+ at all times, 3 times a day because i burn extremely easily as well as being allergic to the sun and always getting a horrible painful rash if im not careful, even if i have suncream on. Im just not a fan of summer :)

I'm looking forward to riding again. I'm pregnant and haven't ridden for 6/7 months now. I'm also looking forward to introducing our baby to the horses. My old boy Ted loves 'little things' and is great with children. Our daughter is due to be born mid-april, we can't wait!

Ditching the Michelin man/ hairy yak look for me and horse (he wears his winter wolloes better than me, but still looks better in summer coat)!
No/less mud.
Daylight.
Long evening hacks.
Can't wait!!
