What are you obsessive about?

I have noted that I have obsessive compulsive disorder when it comes to my horse - in relation to his primary ailments

His allergy flairs up every autumn through to winter. As soon as I see him I am scanning for lumps & bumps, and spend ages feeling for them in his coat. Even in Spring / Summer when the flies are biting, I am totally paranoid that the allergy is back.

Every spring / summer his hooves start to fall apart. As soon as I get to the field I am checking for 4 shoes, then checking to see how loose they are when I pick them out, then listening for any indication that they are loose when we hack. I am obsessively cleaning them, using hoof diinfectant religiously, moisturising (plus supplements etc).

He, unsurprisingly, finds this all an incredible bore, as does my Mum who hacks with me!

So...what are you obsessive about - if anything?!!
 
well i always have to have my curtains crossed over with no light getting through!! (i dont want burgalars seeing me sleep

) In a morning i have to make my bed perfectly withmy teddy on top of my pillow in line! And when you have double doors they cant be crossed over they have to be slotted together perfectly!! and i HATE mess!! with a passion!!
phew i think thats it!
 
keeping things tiding. if i start i cant stop untill every inch of surface/floor space/stable/shed whatever is completly clean, it take forever to finish anything.... thats probably why i hardly ever do it! hahaha
 
I HATE people doing my bandages for me, I will always re do them!!

Also get stressed if the feeds arent mixed properly (I have had a horse get choke before and it was horrid!)

At home I have to have the living room door shut when I'm in there... dunno why!

I have the feed mixing one bbmat - although not due to a bad experience - just an odd person! I have to fold the supplements into the feed because if I don't, they will stick to the side of the bucket & because he doesn't lick the bucket clean, he won't get the benefit

I also always put saddle on first - don't know why?!
 
Hmmm. Obsessive about leg straps being done up on rugs when I take them off (have taken out a few strip lights before).
Water buckets being scrubbed inside and out every day.
Beds so that you can put spirit level on them (ironed as someone said).
People using muckheap properly and no just dumping anywhere.
Toilet seat lid down.
Kitchen surfaces clear (I can be heard to 'tut' alot on this one).

Think thats enough for one night

Cleaning.... i clean my house every day top to bottem/ wiping doors down and even ironing my bed sheets every day,and my garden the grass has to be cut right and the flowers have to look good
up the yard i have to sweep the yard every day and clean the yard through.... i think im going MADDDDDDD
 
My bed of 'Bedmax' has to be perfect and have been asked if I use a spirit level on it as so flat,along with big banks! All my bottles and tubs have to be clean,along with anything horsey I own......hate grubby things....confession have been known to iron a summer sheet

Am loving the spirit levels on the bedding too for those who have confessed to that one!
 
I knew I had forgotten one!! Poo Picking for me too! If they do one after I have finished I will walk all the way back over to pick it up. Hate to leave a single one when I leave!
 
Well they all take the pee out of me on the yard for checking the stable door is shut, at least half a dozen times! I also have to check I haven't left a fork or something dangerous in his bedroom.

I guess I have OCD

I always have to check the kickbolt....and when they're out...I have to check their legstraps....
I have the poo collecting thing too...and I hate dirty feed buckets....and I have to keep my rugs clean....
And the hay piles in the field should NOT be walked through by silly horses....
We all need therapy...this is close to OCD!

I have to have my bed neat, it is a new development and I don't know why but I straighten my bed every time I sit on it, and my boyfriend laughs every time i chuck him off and straighten it.
 
Can beat that! My friend has a very bad OCD relating to cleaning & tidying. She once made the bed while her OH was still asleep in it! He couldn't move his arms or legs when he woke up

I have quite severe OCD, most of my friends think it is quite funny but it really infuriates my mum!
I really can't be doing with other people doing things with my horses or stables, I have a particular routine for just about everything in life and I do stuff like having to have ornaments etc exactly symmetrical on shelves, We used have a cleaner at home but Phil got rid of her because it made me worse (i had to go round checking and redoing everything)

I'm not obsessive about anything - the only thing that I do always double-check, is that my trailer is hitched properly onto my truck.

Nothing else at all worries or concerns me or gets me in a tizz. Judging by your replies.....it seems that I am the odd one here LOL!!

I'm obsessed with my pony's weight and whether he's lost any. I confess I use the weightape on him everyday, and do it 3 times to check I'm doing it right!!
 
looseboxes have to be immaculate with perfectly square banks and deep beds, i dust and hoover the box to keep dust and cobwebs down
i clean my tack after each use
my tack/feed room has to be immaculate and organised, and i spent an hour yesterday doing an inventory of every piece of tack, equipment and rugs etc i own. (which is a lot)
have to have the gravel in the yard tidy, particuly the area outside my boxes has to be dead level and debris-free

That's something I probably should be obsessive about! I've lost count of the amount of times I've wandered off down the yard and come back to find my stable door wide open

- fortunately my horses are pretty greedy and won't leave the stable if there is hay in there

I am obsessive about my stable being clean, my horse being smart and clean, anyone else doing anything (they couldn't possibly do it right!), washing up (can't let OH do it, it won't be done properly!) and sweeping.... not much then...

Rock's breathing!!! I'm known to sit there watching him for hours trying to see if his breathing is regular....he and everyone else think im mad lol

me too!!!! Also when i go to sleep i have to have my bedroom door locked, all windows shut and all cupboard doors shut
 
Oh Dear.

Absolutely nothing at all. Obviously far too idle.

Unless...........you count checking HHO/AHHO at about 5.30am when I have my coffee.

Other than that the only thing that does irritate me mildly is stable doors being left open (because the dogs go in there and poo) and field gates being left to swing when the fields are empty, but not enough for me to make an extra trip across the garden to shut them unless I happen to be passing.
 
My whole family is prone to obsessive stuff (my dad has over 3000 CDs all in alphabetical/genre order and can tell at a glance if one has been moved).

At the yard, I am really obsessive about tidiness, in particular everything has to be swept, all the wheelbarrows lined up against the wall, all the tools together in 'sets', leadropes wrapped, headcollars hung up etc. It is crazy considering how understaffed we are that I still spend 20mins every afternoon wrapping leadropes but I can't help myself.

I also absolutely LOATHE it when people leave jump cups in the stands when they aren't jumping. Such a simple thing to do and it a basic health and safety issue to take them out.
 
Checking his stable door is shut (usually about 20 times)
Checking his shoes are on and not clanging
Making sure his haynet is tied up properly
Making sure his automatic waterer is working properly - once is a good idea, more than this slightly worrying!
