What are you obsessive about?

Cant sleep or go out with wardrobe doors open or draws not closed properly.

With regards to the yard I hate hay in my shavings bed and will spend ages sifting through, also banks must be level and square, bed completly flat and swept back in a straight line! water buckets must be clean and yard swept after mucking out. Also cant take my horse out in the lorry without cleaning tack and him. Feeds must be mixed properly and all tack/rugs headcollars put away in their correct place.

I'm obsessive about the muck heap being kept tidy- the heap must be squared off and flattened. There's a livery on the yard who just throws the soiled bedding everywhere and it doesn't matter how much I ask her to tidy it up, she never does it. As the heap grows bigger, I make "steps" so you can climb it to put the bedding to the back and she always fills in the steps. Grrr!!

clean stuff - I wash horsey stuff every time it's used and headcollars at least once a week (sad, huh?) and I use fabric softener on them. I can't stand it when you pick up someone's headcollar and it's stiff with dirt - imagine having that round your face - ugh. I have rugs washed 3 or 4 times over the winter too although it does seem a waste of time when the first thing they do is go out and roll!!!

Oh, forgot to say that I am REALLY obsessive about clean buckets too. They are scrubbed out after every feed with washing-up liquid, ditto water buckets every day and the field ones (big green rubber things) are done a couple of times a week - can't stand green slime!!!! shudders

Hair in the kitchen and bathroom, I prepare food in one room and clean myself in the other, these rooms need to be kept clean, in my opinion.

Being tidy, I like everything to be neatly put away in the correct place

rugs have to be straight
only i can muck out my horses box cos no-one else does it properly
sugarbeet has to be added to a feed last otherwise its soggy
saddlecloths washed/ swopped each time i ride
brushing boots washed every other time
i definately have ocd.

at the moment its laminitis.and colic as 3 neds got it so far due to the grazing.
so am obsessed also with the weather-lots of sun and rain is BAD.
also as we have NO turnout at all really when its wet am praying for some extreme dry weather that can also kill off the grazing too(although im moving them in 2-4 weeks anway)

used to be tendons.still run my hands down the legs every day at least.OH thinks im obsessive compulsive and he is prob right lol!

erm have to poo pick and have fences in good working order and really hate any rutted ground.(tendons) also check for ragwort as once at place with ragwort tree plantation for fields(i was 12 and had no money to move the neds as dad payed for it all)

erm.also got to have neat and tidy stables wiyth huge thick beds so tehy can lay down.

got to have the feet trimmed every 6-8 weeks(barefoot) as one once had some foot balance issues.

not too bothered by rugging/bringing in unless they are cold.dont feed much hard feed either.

Life's too short to be so anal - as long as things aren't silly and allowed to get dangerous then I say lighten up and relax! Who has time to clean the house from top to bottom every day and iron the bedsheets? Spend the time with people or animals you love instead.

I hate other people doing anything to my horses! I know that sounds so stuck up somehow but from years of always being the SOLE person in charge of my horses it really bugs me when other people try to help me by putting boots on or whatever. Even if Im in a hurry at an event, I just cant stand people trying to help! I find I always have to re-do boots, I dont allow anyone else to do my XC and SJ boots OR tack up!

As for having to get someone to do my horses for me if Im away on holiday - oh good god. I just cant stop drilling them with bloody instructions, I worry they dont understand when I tell them and they'll do things wrong! Other people wouldnt put rugs on when I would etc. and do they know to give them extra hay if its a bit chilly or that one horse likes a cuddle everynight etc. etc.

Most of all, I hate seeing horses Ive sold out and about. There's 2 ponies who I absolutely adored for years and heartbrakingly sold a few years ago who are in my area. Im friends with the owners of both and they're lovely people. But at shows I find myself looking over the tack and wondering why they have a flash on him when I know he doesnt need one, or why doesnt he have a sheet on etc.! Its so petty!

I am however a total slob in the way of tidiness and dont care if my horse is filthy as long as he's happy and comfortable! God we're all weird. Maybe its a horsey thing!
