Was just wondering what people were paying for livery in Scotland? and what you get for your money?

My lively costs have just went up and want to know if i'm getting value for money! What makes a yard good/value for money?

Thanks in advance.

im paying 35pw for grass box and straw, we have a 400 acre estate to hack around use of showjumps and xc at slighlty extra course on sight instructors again for extra cost all the straw we can use same with haylage, big airy stable, use of outdoor schools round pen and training jumps is included in with the livery and the most important for my horse is that turn out is not limited they can live out 24/7 if you wanted i certainly wouldnt pay any more than what i am as we have safe tack rooms and secure entries in and out of the estate the staff check on the horses 2 times a day in the summer and 4 in the winter they bring in and out for the farrier and a vet etc

Depends where in Scotland you are as it varies a good deal!

Currently I have one on grass livery with a stable at £20 per week. DIY is £42 per week which includes shavings and haylage. Full livery is £77 per week.

We have an indoor school, beach hacking and super yard owners.

I am £26 per week DIY livery which gives me a stable and grazing with use of outdoor, floodlit school (20mx60m) and access to decent hacking straight from the yard. Close to large EC for lessons/comps and also free to bring your own instructor to yard. Turnout is 24/7 in summer and out during the day, in at night in the winter.

All bedding paid for yourself and hay arranged by YM over winter for a fixed rate per week, but you could buy in small bales yourself if you want/can be bothered!

I pay £12 per week for 365-day turnout and stable, tack room with electricity, water and storage for bedding, haylage etc.

Depends on what area you are in. When I was on livery round my way (central scotland) DIY is av £25pw for stable, turnout, use of arena but feed/bedding etc is all seperate.

Current Yard is in Moray:
£65 a month for grass livery and goes up to £85 with a stable (£21 week).
24/7 turnout, 40x80m outdoor arena with jumps and hacking.
Extras include hay, feed, bedding. No other services offered

Previous Yard, St Andrews

£50 per week. Included stable, 24/7 turnout in summer if weather and grass permits, 1/2 day turnout in the winter.
60x20m arena, round pen, good selection of jumps.
Indoor stable with haylage.
Extras: horsewalker, bedding, feed. Other services are provided and billed accordingly.

last summer was paying £30/wk for stable, tack room grazing - unlimited turnout, but limited grass - basic sand arena, ok hacking but unlimited haylage

Had to buy hard feed and bedding. Basic hard feed was included in the price but not what I wanted to feed.
