What are your 3.5 year olds upto... advice?

My 3.5yr old comes in at night with the others but is turned out for about 12 hours per day, he likes his routine and getting to dry off in the stable at night. He has done bits of lunging (just in walk and having a few trots over the past few months), has tack on, walked out in tack and this week I have been leaning over him and walking a couple of steps. I will hopefully just sit on him before Christmas and keep him ticking over by doing something (walking out in hand in tack, 5min lunging, pole work in hand etc) with him a couple of days a week until spring when he turns four.

i think day to day handling is a far better way of doing it than leaving them *feral* and then trying to cram and education in to a shorter timescale.

Goofy is only 2(3 in 2015) but comes in at night, has feet done, gets groomed and approx 3 times a week either has a roller on, goes for a walk in hand, or does some de-spooking in the school. Its a nicely low pressure way of getting him used to daily life as a ridden horse.

Thank you :) I do feel to big but nice to know I dont look it. I have never put a stick on his but I think he is approx. 14.2 and I am 5ft9/10.

Eta he is Welsh d x tb but seems to be taking mostly the Welsh d side at the min!

Ah, you are the same height as I am then. Makes me feel better about riding my little one, though she was a June foal but born 3 weeks early so I sort of class her as a July foal so a little younger than most.
