Wethabeta Landa's for turnout - they fit my big natives and Horsewear Amigo's for the shetlands.
Amigo fly rugs are also the only ones that fit shetlands properly.
Again Amigo for show rugs and coolers for after the bathing of shetlands. The Tb's get the ones that they won racing lol!
Stable I quite like Masta's and Fal's for my tb's. For the Welsh Cob rug wrecker - the £3.50 Tesco 2 stripe rug that has lasted him 2 years so far where as his exspensive Masta lasted all of 2 hours
I love my 8 yr old weatherbeeta landa M/W turnout, its still going strong it has had a few repairs but still waterproof even in the heavest downpour, i also have a 15 yr old wetherbeeta that is still as good as new when it comes back from the rug wash.
I love rugs my horses all have full wardrobes :O)
I used to like cuddly ponies for the shetlands but they are not available anymore. I bought a ruggles shetland pony turnout and they fit lovely. The only gripe I might have is they are a bit long at the front. They don't move though so I can live with that. You also get both legs traps and a fillet string so you can use which you prefer.
Weatherbeetas every time for me - I've got Landa and and Orican combos. They seem to fit every horse, and last forever. These two came with my old mare when I got her four years ago, and I have no idea how old they were when I got them!
Our other rugs are OK but I prefer the Weatherbeetas. My girl doesn't like her lightweight much - it's a Horseware one - because it doesn't have shoulder pleats.
My non-Weatherbeeta fave is a non-branded one I bought for £3 at a tack sale. It had a small tear in the side and a tiny rip near the tail flap, which a couple of patches soon sorted out .
Premier Equine for me. Also quite like FAL but they are big, heavy rugs if you have the heavyweights, Prem Equine easier to throw on 16hh + horses
Have some Rambo Horseware which are also good but for me overpriced when compared to the Prem Equine. Also come up a bit small in comparison - particularly the neck covers on my ISH
Don't get on with Masta's as for some reason, they move a lot on my TB's backside - will not stay straight! Must have an odd shaped arse!
Wugs! Had my two ( one with a full neck, one with the high/ordinary one) for 14 years now and used for two different horses. Love them because the design ensures that they don't slip, have lots of shoulder room, are lightweight even though warm, water and windproof, and breathable. Love the front fastener system too. They are as good now as they were when new. Have them washed and reproofed every year.
The other ones are Amigo, and Mark Todd.
Rambo Original turnouts with leg arches. So light, tough and can make any weight with the liners. Normally go up a size. Have the separate neck ones but fancy a Rambo plus now they have made the new designed neck.......maybe in the sales?!
At the moment I am delighted with a Derby house own brand turnout, we have had serious torrential rain here for weeks now and my lad lives out, not once has it leaked and he's been wearing it 24/7, it has not slipped or rubbed at all. For £45 I am over the moon and TBH I will not buy the expensive brands again. Fits a treat too. My only concern is the buckles are not great quality, but I can live with that and replace them for a couple of quid if needed.
Amigo with detachable neck. Silky lined so doesn't rub my Spanish boy's mane. He doesn't do much rolling in the field so doesn't really test it's durability much though.
Shires. Almost all mine are Shires, maybe because of the price. Also like weatherbeta's. If I was feeling flush I would go for Premier Equine ones though but can't justify the price for my mud monsters.
Rhinegolds fit my fat boy really well, otherwise I use Pegasushorse made to measure rugs. Am quite lucky as its my YO company so I often get trial rugs made for my ponies for free...
